Hi everyone!!  I hope you have had an amazing week and welcome back to week two on the Fruit of the Spirit SERIES!!!

Today we are talking about joy and what do you think of when it comes to joy?  Do you remember a fun family memory? How about when you invited Jesus into your life?

I looked up the meaning of the word joy and it means this:

  1. A feeling of great pleasure and happiness
  2. rejoice

Joy is such an wonderful feeling and is a big part of the fruits of the spirit.  Although, what does it really mean to be a joyful person?

Here is what the Bible has to say about it:

Psalm 1:1-3 1Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither- whatever they do prospers.

I think this verse is saying that we are to delight in the word of God and may that be our source of joy even when things are hard.

Psalm 16:11 11You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

God’s presence is a joy to us and helps us in times of needs. It warms our hearts and guides us when things are hard.

1 Chronicles 16:27 27Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.

This means when we spend time with Jesus he gives us the things we need.

Psalm 119:91-93 91Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you. 92If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. 93I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life.

This tells us that even through our pain and affection, you help us stand strong.    God  is our delight and he delights in us.

Did you know that joy is mentioned about 224 times in the Bible?  Joy is really such a big word.  Joy in the Lord is a wonderful thing.  Here is a picture my Mom found:

It is of a woman hugging Jesus.  This should give us JOY!!  This is what Jesus wants to do with us.  He can’t wait for the day when He is face-to-face and to hug you wrap you in His arms.

That is all for this week!!  May you be filled with joy and worship the Lord.  Let’s delight in God’s kingdom and get the heavenly joy we want and all need.

See you then!!

Hi everyone!!  Today we start our series on love!! It has been a really busy week.  🙂  I know we have talked about agape love but,  I thought since it is a fruit of the Spirit, it would still be good to hear what God has to say about this.

So,  what comes to mind when we think of love? God?  Love from family and friends;how we love others? Things you love; pets?

Well, love is made by God and love is good.  I thought we should look into the meaning of love. Here is the definition from the dictionary:

Love ( noun)

  1. an intense feeling of deep affection.
  2. a person or thing that one loves.

These are couple of definitions of love. We are all made to love and to be loved.

This verse really describes love.  God loved us so much that He sent His Son to die for us. For us!!  We are all sinners but, God loves us so much.   I was at a church conference this year, and a speaker was talking about how we are His inheritance. He is counting down the days until He can see us, hug us, and be face-to-face with us. That is such a wonderful thought. The God of the Universe!!  We are talking the universe, people!!  He loves us so much, to die for us, come back, and have us as sons and daughters!?  Mind blowing!!  I am a Christian and have been for a while but,  the story of God is such an amazing, wonderful, and a moment of total victory.  It is amazing!!

Also, I looked up a couple other verses on love and I thought I should show them to you.

Ephesians 4:2: “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”

1 Peter 4:8: “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

John 15:12: “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”

LOVE 1love 3

That is all for this week!!   LOVE, such an amazing and powerful thing. It changes lives, our lives and others.  That is why God tells us to love our enemies.  There are sure a lot of things God has said about love in the Bible. Next week we will be talking about joy.

I hope this will help you get closer to God and think about how much he loves us.

See you next week!! May you lives be full of joy and worship!!

P.S. love is mentioned like, a lot in the Bible. Check out this sight to find the number!!

Fruits of the Spirit

Hi everyone!!

Galatians 5:22-23 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Today we are talking about the fruits of the Spirit and I am here so start  a series on my blog about it.  We are going to go into the meanings of the fruits of the Spirit and hear what the Bible says about it.   I want these to be helpful to us so we can put what we learned into our own lives.   I know this is short but, I have had a busy week.  So, next week we are going to talk about love!!
I also recommend you read Galatians 5 because it is a great chapter!!  I hope we all learn and grow closer to God with this series.  I need to talk to my Mom soon about those pictures of Thailand so, it will be easier to tell you about my trip in 2016.  Like I have said, it has  been a busy week and I hope to see you all next week.
This is Kaelyn, signing off!!
